Kuala Lumpur, 1 September 2024 – A synergistic partnership between OSK Property and OSK Foundation has once again exemplify its commitment to corporate social responsibility through “The Good Cause” initiative with the upcycling of decommissioned OSK Property corporate shirts by the Women’s Institute of Management (WIM), a non-governmental organisation dedicated to advancing women’s leadership across various sectors through educational and social development programs.
The new initiative, funded by OSK Foundation, is dedicated to repurposing 600 decommissioned corporate shirts into stylish, functional pouches by commissioning the task to WIM members, whom are women from the B40 community that will in turn be used as corporate gifts. This initiative not only aims to reduce textile waste but also empowers underserved women from poor backgrounds by providing them with a sustainable means of livelihood, aligning with OSK Group’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.
“At OSK Property, we are committed to sustainability and social responsibility. This initiative not only prevents waste but also creating meaningful job opportunities for women from the B40 community. It reflects our dedication to environmental responsibility and community empowerment, aligning with our core values,” said Ong Ghee Bin, Chief Executive Officer of OSK Property.
OSK Property believes in the power of giving back to the community and views this initiative as a continuous effort towards more activities aimed at helping others and to foster positive social change and supporting vulnerable communities.
