Kuala Lumpur, 6 June 2024 – In conjunction with National Eyewear Day, OSK Property made a significant stride in its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, known as The Good Cause initiative by collecting and donating used eyeglasses to students in need. The campaign, aptly named “Brighter Vision, Brighter Future,” had successfully collected 270 pairs of used eyeglasses, which will be distributed to underprivileged students in Malaysia.
In collaboration between MERCY Malaysia and OSK Property, the collected eyeglasses will be provided to underprivileged students from low-income families who cannot afford vision correction equipment. This initiative aims to support their educational needs by ensuring a conducive learning environment. The distribution will take place during an upcoming eye program, the details of which will be announced soon.

The campaign ran for one month, from 1 March to 31 March 2024, with donation drop off boxes located at all OSK Property sales galleries in Klang Valley, Seremban, Butterworth and Sungai Petani, Atria Shopping Gallery in Damansara Jaya, Faber Towers in Taman Desa and Plaza OSK in Kuala Lumpur. The campaign was supported by staffs and business partners of OSK Group, and kind-hearted Malaysians who generously donated their used eyeglasses for this noble cause.
“We believe that giving back to the community is not an obligation but a reflection of our core values. By donating used eyeglasses to the underprivileged students, we hope that it will help the students in their academic achievement and thus pave their journey to a successful future,” said Ong Ghee Bin, Chief Executive Officer of OSK Property.
“Helping our community thrive is at the heart of what we do, and we are committed to making a positive impact through every initiative we undertake’, he added.
The used eyeglasses handover ceremony at MERCY Malaysia Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur was officiated by Joey Tong Yoke Leng, General Manager of Brand, Public Relations & Digital of OSK Property, and Nabila Yazid, Health Program Officer of MERCY Malaysia.
Through “The Good Cause”, OSK Property continues to reinforce its dedication to social responsibility and community enhancement, ensuring that vision impairment does not hinder the future potential and well-being of those less fortunate in our community.”
