Kuala Lumpur, 6 September 2024 — In a heartening effort to support underprivileged families under The Good Cause Initiative, OSK Property in collaboration with OSK Foundation and Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia, successfully conducted a month long of Virtual Food Bank Drive, starting from 1st to 31st August 2024. The campaign was held across all OSK Property sales galleries in Klang Valley, Seremban, Butterworth and Sungai Petani, Atria Shopping Gallery in Damansara Jaya, Faber Towers in Taman Desa and Plaza OSK in Kuala Lumpur.
This initiative differed from typical food bank campaigns, instead of collecting physical food items, the virtual drive focused on raising monetary donations, which were then delivered directly to Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia. This approach allowed for more flexibility in sourcing food supplies, ensuring that the contributions could be maximized to meet the specific needs of recipient families. Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia will also supplement the donated amount by adding essential daily food supplies, amplifying the campaign’s impact.
Commenting on the initiative, Ong Ghee Bin, Chief Executive Officer of OSK Property, said,
“This campaign is a testament to the power of community collaboration. By leveraging our resources and the generosity of our communities and the public, we can make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. We hope this initiative will inspire others to think creatively about how we can all play a part in supporting our communities.”
The mock cheque will be presented to En. Johan Bin Halid, Chief Executive Officer of Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia in conjunction with National Food Bank Day, celebrating the spirit of giving and community support. This initiative reflects OSK Property’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and aligns with its mission to make a positive impact in the communities it serves.
