Kuala Lumpur, 14 August 2024 — OSK Foundation (OSKF) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Women’s Institute of Management (WIM) to further their shared commitment to empowering underserved women across Malaysia. This partnership aims to create sustainable impact and provide support to women from challenging backgrounds, including single mothers and those from B40 communities, as well as Orang Asli, Orang Asal, and Orang Sungai populations.
Since the program’s launch in 2019, WIM and OSKF have conducted 22 workshops nationwide. These workshops are designed to impart hands-on entrepreneurial skills and business know-how to help women start and manage their own businesses. To date, more than 800 underserved women have benefited from the program, with the majority successfully starting their own businesses or improving their existing ones, bringing them closer to financial independence.
The MOU signed today marks a new chapter in this partnership, reinforcing our joint commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs through the “Seed and Support Women’s Entrepreneurial Grant.” This new initiative will provide essential financial support to help women take their businesses to the next level. Applications for the grant are still open until 31st August 2024. To apply, please visit https://wimnet.org.my/
